Shrivalli Bhamidipaty emerges winner for the BJK Cup Heart Award

Indian tennis player Shrivalli Bhamidipaty has won the prestigious Billie Jean King Cup Heart Award for the Asia-Oceania zone. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced her victory for the award with a vote share of 78:22 against Lulu Sun of New Zealand.

About the Billie Jean King Cup Heart Award

  • It is ITF’s annual honour, which was first introduced in 2009. It recognises players who demonstrate distinction, exceptional courage on court, and unwavering dedication to their national team during the Billie Jean King Cup.
  • Honourees are selected by a panel, including Billie Jean King herself, and then voted on by fans. Winners receive prize money of $10,000 for the Finals and $3,000 for Play-offs.
  • In the past, Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina won this award in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
